Tonight the Lenten series “Beneath The Cross: letters from A Good Friday World” concludes. The series teaches us the importance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Letters written on Good Friday after the death of Jesus could not be mailed the next day, as it was the Sabbath. By Sunday, the world had changed. Tonight’s letter is from Judas Iscariot.

During the reading of Psalm 22, the altar will be stripped - linens, paraments, ornaments and candles are removed symbolizing how Christ permitted himself to be stripped of his Power and Glory in the hands of the captors. Silent prayer is kept by the congregation.

There will be no benediction or postlude, indicating the continuity with the services of Good Friday and Easter when the congregation returns to join in the celebration of the Cross and Resurrection.

GOOD FRIDAY - 10:00 a.m.

The congregation gathers tomorrow, Good Friday, to observe the Lord’s sacrifice on the cross. The Order of Service will focus on “The Way of the Cross”. Silence is kept as we meditate on the mystery of the crucified Saviour and the mystery of redemption.

Good Friday is an austere time of reflection and intercession, as well as the adoration of Christ, the Sacrificial Lamb.

EASTER BREAKFAST

If you plan to attend the breakfast on Easter Sunday at 8:00 a.m., please sign the sheet in the parish hall.
